KDWPT Family Fishing Night

We will be fishing at the Great Plains Nature Center's Island Pond, where we can catch bluegill, bass, catfish, and crappie. The pond is also home to many other wildlife, and is a peaceful scene to experience fishing with your family! Staff and volunteers from the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks & Tourism will be onsite to help as much or as little as needed. Connect with your kids and fish Kansas! All fishing equipment and tackle are provided, but you're welcome to bring your own. No fishing license required.

  • Children must be supervised by a responsible adult during the event.
  • Meet in the parking lot just to the west of the Great Plains Nature Center at 6 p.m.
  • Printed tickets are not required to attend.
  • Please register each person individually (including all adults and children.)

FREE. Registration required. Tickets will go live 2 weeks before the event.
