Pheasant Hunt Success
With help from our volunteers, we have hosted 15 pheasant hunts this season.
Black Hawk PF & Waterloo Trap Teams
Steve Robisky and other volunteers from the Black Hawk County Pheasants Forever chapter took some kids from the local Waterloo, IA high school trap teams pheasant hunting at Chase the Adventure Licensed Hunt and Gun Club.
North Butler PF & Whartburg College
The Whartburg college trap team and North Butler Pheasant’s Forever hit the field for a second time on November 21st. Thank you Thomas Heidenwir and Chad Wood for mentoring these shooting sports athletes!
Kossuth County PF & Algona SCTP Team
The Kossuth County Pheasants Forever Chapter took kids from the Algona High School SCTP team on a pheasant hunt. Between the 5 youth hunters- they harvested 10 roosters!
Jasper County PF & Simpson College
The Jasper County Pheasants Forever Chapter and Simpson College took the field where they knocked a couple roosters down.

North Butler County PF & Wartburg College
Wartburg College and the North Butler County Pheasant's Forever chapter braced 35 mph winds while hunting, but that didn't stop them from having fun! These two groups will be out hunting next weekend, too!
Boone County PF & Gilbert Clay Commanders
The Gilbert Clay Commanders High School Trap team knocked down some Iowa roosters with the help of the Boone County Pheasants Forever Chapter!
Iowa Capitol PF & Grandview University
The Grandview University Trap team hunted the Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge with the help of the Iowa Capitol Pheasant's Forever chapter! Special thanks to Dash Kelley and Scott Gilje for al of their help!

Blackhawk County PF & Waterloo Trap Teams
The Black Hawk County Pheasants Forever Chapter hosted a controlled pheasant hunt at Chase the Adventure Licensed Hunt and Gun Club for athletes from the Waterloo SCTP teams These athletes harvested 24 pheasants!
Emmetsburg Athletes Hunt Pheasant & Waterfowl
Ducks Unlimited State Council Chair, Brian Garrels took these shooting sports athletes from Emmetsburg out on both a waterfowl and pheasant hunt during the youth opener.
Corridor outdoor adventures & highland hideaway
Corridor Outdoor Adventures in Iowa teamed with Pass it On! Outdoor Mentors, Highland Hideaway, Top Gun Kennels/Steve Ries, Iowa DNR and Iowa Pheasants Forever to host a pheasant hunt to youth in Iowa. In this event, the hosts shared their passion for the outdoors with youth wanting to learn more about upland game hunting. They hosted two hunts for two different groups of youth.
Hawkeye community college
Thomas Heidenwir and David Swanson hosted a pheasant hunt for the Hawkeye Redtails Community College SCTP team at Crockett Ridge Clays. The athletes harvested birds, cleaned them, and finished the day with a bowl of chili and community!
